Posted by Russell McMurchie
District 5050 club assembly was held Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Kwantlen University Collage in Surrey. Approximately 250 Rotarians for District 5050 were on hand to hear our District Trainer, DG, DG Elect, DG Nominee, DG Nominee Designate, and Dennis Boyd, our AG and Rotary Leadership Institute Chair. The District Assembly is essentially an educational conference. There were 3 sessions of 10 subjects, some repeated. The various group sessions were held to educate serious Rotarians to be able to handle greater and greater responsibilities with a view to becoming more effective in what we do or want to do.

- Group study Exchange - how to set up, fund and obtain participants.
- Water, Health & Hunger - what it means and how to deal with.
- Sergeant At arms - Duties and how to -
- Secretaries - 3 sessions - Each session more detailed than the previous.
- Public Relations - taught by our own Barrie Seaton
- Literacy - More 3rd world people want education than anything else.
- RYLA - What, Where & How.
- Membership - Recruit & Retain - Taught by our own Gale Acker
- Fundraising Idea Exchange -
- Presidents-Elect - Protocols & Budget
