MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT GOVERNOR

Greetings Fellow Rotarians:

October saw a number of Foundation-based activities in the District, including the departure of GSE Team Australia for District 9470 in the Australian Outback and a visit by Rotary Foundation PolioPlus Chair, Dr. Robert Scott.

Our First Nations/Native American GSE Team has been in Western Australia since early October and by reading the postings from team members on their "blog" -

http://gse2australia.blog.com - they are not only having a unique experience but furthering Rotary's fourth Object, namely the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace.

Rotary's primary objective remains the global eradication of polio, and Bob Scott visited Chilliwack on October 9 to report on the current status of this effort and to plead the case of the thousands of children who will yet be crippled or even die if we should slacken our resolve.

With November being Foundation Month, it is a time for each of us to recommit our support for The Rotary Foundation. It is through Foundation programs that we are able to combat the deadly effects of malnutrition, disease and ignorance so prevalent in parts of our world.

It's up to us - let's "Make Dreams Real" by investing in The Rotary Foundation.

Your Governor,

Larry
