2008 Rotary International Convention

An estimated 18,000 Rotarians decended upon the Los Angeles Convention Center for the 99th Rotary International Convention. (The place is HUGE!) From the Plenary Sessions to the Break-Out Sessions that dealt with specific subjects, it was an amazing show. The five main areas of concern - Water - Literacy - Health & Hunger - Family of Rotary - to Rotary Shares, the breakout sessions dealt with subjects near and dear to Rotarians everywhere. Sessions were an hour long which just scratched the surface of the subject being dealt with but created a stronger need to eventually fill in the blanks by attendees. Many good ideas were shared and successful projects showcased. I have brought back many of the materials that were offered for your examination. They will be on a table at meetings for the next month or so. There is so much to see & absorb. Next year's convention will be held in Birmingham England. Plan on attending if you can. What a great vacation it would be!
