Last evening we rang out the Rotary year with a fun and productive meeting!
We’re proud to announce and welcome our newest member, Linda Mead, to the Conejo Valley Rotary Club! Linda is a returning Rotarian, graduate from the University of Southern California, and professional financial advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. We are so excited to have her as a part of our club and look forward to enjoying and sharing time together giving back to the community!
Also we had a special guest speaker, Brenda Small, President of the local Gift of Life International organization, share the results of our efforts through our Global Grant. Overall our mission has been a great success with helping 45 Mexican children with heart disease get their lives back! For 42 years, Gift of Life has made it their mission to provide hope to children in developing countries with heart disease. To date they’ve helped 30,000 children! We’re proud to have collaborated with Gift of Life to help save so many children!
Furthermore, our Club reached another goal to raise over $21,000 with the help of Rotarian Diego Velasquez and Rotarians from our district and other districts! This $21,000 contribution will be matched by The Wheelchair Foundation and will benefit 280 wheelchair recipients providing them with mobility and hope to pursue their dreams!
Last and not least, we congratulated our outgoing Rotary President Rik Zelman on a job very well done! We are proud to have him as a President and appreciate him stepping up and delivering excellence! Congrats Rik on an outstanding Rotary year!
