Our Stories
What a marvelous evening for the Conejo Valley Rotary Club! Numerous special guests, admirable awards, incredible new members, visiting Rotarians, and not to mention an energizing speech on the update of the district and Rotary International from our very own inspiriting District 5240 Governor! 👏

The Conejo Valley Rotary Club was delighted to have an extraordinary leader of the Los Angeles Rams, Senior Director of Communications, Artis Twyman, and his adorable family join us for our meeting and be our guest speaker!

Check out an inspiring video shared by an amazing woman, Deepa Willingham, that came and visited our club. She explained how in the world’s poorest regions, girls are the most vulnerable. Furthermore, Mrs. Willingham explained that if we can help them with education, we can make a dramatic and lasting impact on the quality of life of the surrounding communities.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA., Jan 31, 2017 -- Agnew Multilingual provides video subtitling services for the Rotary Club of the Conejo Valley to raise funds for the Help Us Live Foundation, a struggling youth charity located in Ecuador.

"The Help Us Live Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports children with severe disabilities and is looking to raise awareness and obtain the necessary fund donations for helping these children" said Denise Vivero, past President of the Rotary Club of Conejo Valley.

"We are proud to support the Rotary Club's effort to raise funds for the Help Us Live Foundation and honored to be a part of such a worthy cause" says Irene Agnew, company president.

On our last trip to Haiti, June 2015, with Martin Kendig from Conejo Valley Rotary Club and other members of our team, we visited the orphanage the Paraclets, located up in the mountain, near Port-au-Prince, to give away school supplies. At this time the orphanage had about 80 kids and we found out they did not have enough beds. The conditions were miserable, and our Rotary club decided to start to buy a few iron beds in Haiti, and to go to install the beds on a next trip. And it was done on February 18, 2016.

Last night, we inducted two new members to our Club, Tim Velasquez who is a brand new Rotarian and a transfer, Sarah Rolfe! We are so thrilled to have both of them in our Club and believe they will bring great things to our community and Club.

Diego Velasquez, our International Chair, represented our club on a visit to Tijuana.  Along with the Thousand Oaks, La Jolla, Torrance and Tijuana Rotary Clubs they donated toys, blanket and wheel chairs to the needy children of Tijuana at the Felicidades de Reyes Dia at the El Trompo Center Museum of Science.  Almost 300 children and their families attended.
