Maria LeMaire was our program on July 29. She spoke about the swimming and sailing program that they do for children with autism.
Our own members Steve Taitz and Warren Goercke volunteer with this group on Monday evenings at the Sayville Yacht Club and go sailing with them. Originally, this was the group that did swimming lessons at St. Joseph's (they spoke to our club about 5 years ago about that program) and it has now expanded to this.
They have yearly family memberships of $35 and sponsorships are also available.
