American Red Cross the February 24 program

Tembi Jenkins, Babylon/Islip Regional Administrator for the American Red Cross was our program on February 24
Tembi spoke about her work in her area, taking care of people who have a fire in the home (she had just dealt with a family in this situation right before she came to speak to us), emergency shelters, counseling and referral for disaster recovery assistance etc.
Tembi also spoke about her work to establish a youth service program, giving them meaningful opportunities to help their communities prepare for and respond to emergencies. At the same time, the youth gain valuable leadership training and development.
