A big thanks to the Eastport South Manor Elementary School Students who collected books for Book Fairies, a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes new and gently used books to under-resourced communities to combat "book deserts" and foster literacy.
The students were able to collect 5,084 books for families in need on Long Island, NYC, and internationally.

Students Ambassadors from each class met once a week to collect the books, box up the books, and count the total number of books collected each week. The families, students, and teachers worked hard collecting and donating books for a great cause.
