International Service and Friendship Exchange

The District 7010 International Service Team works with local clubs to develop international projects and design global grants of higher quality and greater scale by leveraging local Rotarian expertise, establishing connections between clubs in the district and a host or international partner, and creating a network of local experts to help with project planning and the grant process. International Service fulfills Rotary's mission of "advancing international understanding, goodwill and peace" throughout the world through the delivery of projects and programs in one of seven focus areas.
Rotary members and The Rotary Foundation uniquely contribute to disaster recovery and rebuilding efforts. Working closely with our partner ShelterBox and other organizations specializing in disaster relief, Rotary members lead projects supporting every phase of a community's recovery.
Rotary supports three phases of relief:
- Immediate response: Our local clubs and partners immediately offer helping hands and supplies.
- Short-term assistance: Our clubs and districts help affected communities wherever we can through funds and materials to re-establish day-to-day operations.
- Long-term rebuilding: Our clubs plan and implement projects that rebuild affected communities.

Other Information:
- The Friendship Exchange Program provides an opportunity for Rotarians to experience other cultures firsthand by participating in reciprocal visits with Rotarians from other countries and their families.
- The exchange gives Rotarians and their partners the opportunity to spend a few days in the home of a Rotarian in another country. The typical exchange is for 7 days.
- Rotary Friendship Exchange is funded entirely by program participants. Guests are responsible for their travel expenses and personal spending. Hosts are expected to provide housing and meals.
