Dr. Krish Gujavarty gave a comprehensive introduction of today’s guest speaker, Dr. Lorraine Pincus, a Clinical and School Social Worker – Youth and Family Services in the Connetquot Central School District.

Dr. Pincus discussed a variety of issues concerning student behavior, current problems and remediation programs, and how schools and the community can work together to support children and families.
Her talk was essentially an update of the presentation she gave to our club a couple of years ago “What’s Going On In Our Schools And In Our Communities These Days?” The topics she covered included:
• What’s happening in the classroom?
• Dignity Act for All Students
• Academics
• Social Emotional Learning Programs

Following a Q&A session, Dr. Pincus distributed a very informative booklet “ What Schools and Community OrganizationsCan Do to Support Wellness for Children and Families”
