What do you get when you combine a sumptuous steak cookout on a luxurious waterfront estate with a courtly new officer induction, an inspiring recognition awards ceremony, and a celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Babylon Rotary Club? A very special event - a memorable evening of delights and warm fellowship that over 100 Rotarians and friends experienced last Wednesday, July 12th.
Since this year marked the 70th year since the founding of the Babylon Rotary Club, our traditional Steak Cookout and Incoming Officer Induction event was expanded to include a 70th anniversary celebration with many more than usual invited guests.

Incoming and outgoing presidents Frank Seibert and Megan Noble, their event committee, our gracious host Michael Simon and his staff did a masterful job of preparing the venue, vast array of delicacies and special treats.

Past President Gustave Fishel III administered the oath of office to our incoming officers: President Frank Seibert, President-Elect Nancy Iglesias-Gillen, Vice President James Kanzler, and Secretary Josie Titcomb.

Outgoing President Megan cited all of those who have been Babylon Rotary members for 15 years or more, over half the total membership; each will receive a memento of the occasion. She also presented a number of traditional awards to members, and others who have helped our club, in recognition of their notable contributions:

 Rising Star - James Kanzler
Service Above Self- Chris Korte
10 Year Dirty Sock Run Chair - Hapi Auer
Save The Day Award - Skip Gardner

Paul Harris Awards - Carolyn Gutmann, Kim Skillen, Judy Skillen, Mark Agavino, Ed Miller, Michael Simon, and Theresa Santmann

Thanks to all who worked hard to make this very special event a great success.
