About 15 BRC members, family and friends visited Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches to prepare and serve a BBQ lunch to the special needs kids and camp counselors on Wednesday, August 22nd. Photos are included in the Photo Albums section on this page.
The weather was not promising as our intrepid crew arrived at the camp. But, as though on cue, the sun appeared just before lunch was prepared, and all enjoyed a delightful afternoon outdoors.

A visit to the camp is always a special experience. The location, facilities and activities provided for these special-needs kids, and the care and dedication demonstrated by the camp staff make this a truly extraordinary place.

As do several other clubs in Rotary District 7255, Babylon Rotary schedules an annual visit to host a BBQ lunch at the camp. Our members look forward to this annual event and the opportunity to interact with the kids and camp staff, always finding it to be a most enlightening and gratifying experience.

About The Camp
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck's mission is to help children and young adults ages 6-21 with both physical and developmental disabilities achieve equality, dignity, and maximum independence through a safe and quality program of camping, recreation, and education in a summer-time environment. In a structured, compassionate environment, the children engage in a number of activities designed to broaden their horizons.
Another extraordinary fact is that the camp is funded exclusively through private donations. All of the fund-raising efforts of the Moriches Rotary Club and a good portion from other clubs in the district are directed toward support of the camp. They hold many special fund-raisers, like the Spooky Walk and Duck BBQ/Race, which require lots of volunteers, another rewarding, hands-on project opportunity.
