Challenge Endowment Fund, Logan Rotary Foundation

Logan Rotary Club’s Foundation (501[c][3]) was established to promote, sponsor, and carry out educational, scientific, and charitable purposes and objectives, conducted by, and for the benefit of the Rotary Club of Logan.

In 2022, Rotarian Mark R. Hargreaves anonymously established the Challenge Endowment Fund to provide permanent funding for educational scholarships and educational projects. He provided $50,000 and challenged the Club to match it.

By December 31,2023 the Challenge was exceeded. Over 75 individuals donated $55,298! Thus, the Foundation ended up with an endowment fund of $105,298. This should produce $6,000 to $8,500 each year for the stated purposes.

We thank the many donors who gave to the Challenge.

It was Mark’s intent that the Challenge foster the idea of giving generously to the Foundation, which provides for our educational service projects. It is a legacy that is important to honor. It is Rotary’s Four-Way Test in action.

As we greet January 2024, all Happy Dollars donated at our luncheons will go to the corpus of the Foundation, with a goal of reaching $2,500 by December 31, 2024.
