The Swimming Gift is a Suite of Programs to address the barriers to participation in swimming lessons through training, resource allocation and financial assistance.
Our aim is to raise funds to cover the cost of swimming lessons for primary school children in underprivileged communities. We believe that all children should have the opportunity to participate in quality water safety & learn to swim lessons in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our vision is to create generational change by ensuring every child can swim before they finish primary school.
The Swimming Gift is a school swimming initiative by the Global Water Safety & Drowning Prevention Rotary Club.

The Swimming Gift is an initiative of GWSDPRC to create generational change by ensuring every child can swim before they finish primary school. We have introduced the Triple T (Train the Trainer) program to ensure classes are conducted by suitably qualified teachers in a safe & nurturing environment. The Triple T program delivers teacher training courses through Swim Australia to raise the standard of teaching practices and provide specific training to address the fear of water. Our team developed the Rhythm of the Water Program melding an understanding of fear, language difficulties and disabilities to introduce new swimmers to water in a calm and nurturing way.
Added to this is our 2nd Dip program, collecting quality 2nd hand swimwear and equipment to ensure every child has the right start to participate in our programs.
Our aim is to support underprivileged communities with training, resource allocation and financial assistance to ensure all children have the opportunity to participate in quality water safety & learn to swim programs by addressing the barriers to participation.
