As you may know drowning is one of the significant leaders in preventable deaths – Around the world on average over 230,000 people lose their lives to the water.
Drowning is the consistently the world largest preventable killer in children. The best news is something is being done about it and with projects like this and many other, we can assist reduce the drowning statistics.
The program featured expertly crafted sessions using the "Rhythm of the Water"; curriculum, delivered by trained swim teachers from Pool Mountain Creek Aquatic Centre. Participants engaged in 45-minute sessions weekly for 4 weeks. Providing them with essential water safety skills. The last session was held at the beach Alexandra Headland.
The donation received from the Rotary Club of Alexandra Headlands in partnership with the Alexandra Headlands Royal Life Saving Surf Club. The funds raised through initiatives like the Solstice Swim 2023 have enabled projects like this, demonstrating the impact of community collaboration.
Moreover, each participate child received essential swimming gear, including goggles, a swim bag, and a drink bottle, generously provided by our sponsors.
