In 2025, Swim Vietnam provided inclusive swimming and water safety lessons to 68 children with disabilities in Hội An, helping them develop life-saving skills, improve physical strength and coordination, and build confidence and independence.
The program created a safe, supportive environment where children could experience achievement, connection, and joy, while ensuring greater access to swimming opportunities for those who are often excluded from such activities.

Disability Swimming Program – Hoi An, Vietnam
We are incredibly grateful to the Global Water Safety & Drowning Prevention Rotary Club for your generous support of A$3,500 in 2025. Your contribution made a meaningful difference in the lives of children with disabilities in Hội An, enabling them to access safe, inclusive swimming lessons.
It was also a privilege to welcome Alina Graham to Vietnam last year. Her visit was a wonderful opportunity to share the impact of the program firsthand. We are delighted that Alina will be returning to Vietnam this year in her role as an AUSTSWIM trainer. This will provide another opportunity to observe the program in action and connect with the Swim Vietnam team, teachers and local partners.

Program Impact in 2025
In 2025, Swim Vietnam continued its long-standing commitment to inclusive swimming education, partnering with three local charities (Hearing and Beyond, Children's Hope in Action and Kianh Foundation) to provide structured swimming lessons to 68 children with disabilities.
These sessions go far beyond learning to swim. They provide life-saving water safety skills, improved physical strength and coordination, increased confidence, independence, and a sense of joy and achievement.
For many of these children, this is a rare opportunity to take part in an activity that is both empowering and deeply enjoyable. During the hot summer months, the pool becomes a place of laughter, connection and pride—for children and their families alike.

Looking Ahead to 2026
To continue and build on this work, we are seeking A$3,600 for this program in 2026. This funding will enable us to:
- Deliver another full cycle of inclusive swimming lessons for children with disabilities
- Support local teachers in delivering safe, inclusive swimming lessons
- Ensure access to facilities, equipment and transport where needed
- Continue creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can thrive
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Global Water Safety & Drowning Prevention Rotary Club. Your continued support helps ensure that children with disabilities are not left behind when it comes to water safety and the joy of swimming.
