Alina Graham Named Top 3 Finalist for Queensland Volunteer of the Year

The Global Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Rotary Club (GWSDPRC) is proud to recognise Alina Graham after being named a Top 3 Finalist in the Queensland Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Alina has been involved with GWSDPRC since 2022 and currently serves as Club President, helping lead water safety and drowning prevention initiatives both locally and internationally. Her contribution to the aquatic and community sector extends far beyond one organisation, with years of volunteer work across regional Queensland in emergency response, community sport, and local governance.

During the Western Queensland floods earlier this year, Alina played an active role in response and recovery efforts through SES and community relief work. She assisted with clean-up and recovery efforts while also helping coordinate support for isolated communities across the region.

In addition to her emergency response work, Alina has dedicated countless volunteer hours to strengthening community programs and improving opportunities for regional communities through her work in sport and recreation organisations.

Her nomination recognised not only the amount of time she gives to volunteering, but also her leadership, practical support, and commitment to helping communities recover, grow, and stay connected.

GWSDPRC congratulates Alina on this outstanding achievement and thanks her for the ongoing contribution she continues to make to water safety, community wellbeing, and regional Queensland.

“No child should die from something we already know how to prevent.” Alina
