Love and Friendship

2017-18 District 5495 Governor Nancy Van Pelt 

Nancy joined the Glendale West Rotary Club after attending a membership event organized by her husband, Rotarian Tom Hutchinson.  She became active immediately and has served in several club leadership roles, including President in 2011-12 and 2014-15, Secretary, International Service Chair, Ethics in Action Event Chair and Club Literacy Committee Chair.

She served in Rotary District 5490 as District Trainer, Visioning Chair, Wheelchair Coordinator and as a member of such committees as District Conference, USA-Mexico Friendship Conference & Global Grants Exchange, Bylaws, Finance and Communications.  Nancy has facilitated sessions at PETS, RLI and other Rotary events.  She has participated in wheelchair distributions, international projects, Polio immunizations and an international Peace conference.

Nancy believes that the 'magic of Rotary' is our capacity to bring together individuals with common interests and shared values, offering them a way to pool their talents and resources to benefit a greater good.  She places great value on capacity-building and leadership development.  Self-employed, Nancy built her career on providing support to organizations, leaders, boards and teams as a professional facilitator, trainer and leadership development consultant.  She is committed to using those professional skills to support Rotary at every level. 

In addition to their many Rotary activities, Nancy and Tom enjoy traveling and spending time with their family of 4 children and 5 delightful, future-Rotarian grandchildren.
