The recent annual Zone 26-27 conference at The Wigwam, co-chaired by Elizabeth Mahoney and Gianna Solari (8/31- 9/6) was attended by representatives of 30 Rotary Districts located throughout the Western United States and some parts of Canada.
President Nominee 2027-28 Larry Lunsford was one of the keynote speakers. “Shoes for Orphan Souls” is one of his favorite projects. Attending districts donated 600 pairs of new children’s shoes to be distributed in his name here in Arizona (our Club donated 80 pairs).
In addition, a Duck Derby fundraiser, where rubber ducks raced down the main Wigwam swimming pool slide in three heats, raised more than $100,000 for End Polio Now.
