"Ring My Chimes" was the call for the Rotary Club of Sun City day of ringing the bell for the Salvation Army.

For several years the Rotary Club of Sun City has volunteered to ring the bell for the Sun City Salvation Army.  This year we were out in force again.  We had the location at Basha's and Walgreen's at 99th & Beardsley.

It is great fun to do this project.  We laugh, sing, tell stories and enjoy the patrons as the enter and leave the store.  We did a great job of collecting the money again this year.  At one time we had a group of Veterans at our kettle, from WWII, Korean War and the Viet Nam war.  We all discussed this great country, how luck we are, how grateful we are to all the vets and collected more.

When people passed our kettles entering or leaving, they may have approached the store with a frown but they left with a smile and a wonderful greeting from the bell ringers.  I actually believe we made the day of a few of the patrons.

Thank you to all the participants, we have photos of just a few who helped this year.  This is by no means all the volunteers.  So thank you to ALL.  And those who were not able to join us this year, hopefully next year.
