The Sun City Rotary Club expanded its Students of the Month at Challenger Middle School in Glendale this year to include 4th to 8th grades. Rather than have students and families travel to Sun City once a month, the Club voted to bring a catered lunch to the School every other month allowing more families to attend and giving those honored students greater recognition at the school.

On October 2nd, eight of the ten students had family in attendance. Parents and grandparents were pleased to see the children honored and the obvious love, respect and encouragement shown by the Rotarians.

Excellent food and service was provided by our weekly caterer One Step Beyond, Inc. Culinary Services. Six Challenger MS Interactors helped with the setup and cleanup.

In the midst of the meeting, Saint Mary's Food Bank arrived to pick up several hundred pounds of food and water collected by the Interact Club. Students, Interactors, staff, dads and Rotarians quickly created a "bucket line" to move the goods out of the meeting room for Saint Mary's dramatically demonstrating that we are, indeed, People of Action!
