Today’s speakers were Hannah Chazan (Manny’s daughter) and her friend and partner in doing good, Tatum Smith.  The two young ladies will be traveling to Cambodia with Habitat for Humanity to build ten to fifteen homes in a ten-day time span.  Tatum and Hannah each have a financial goal of $2,000 to help them get to Cambodia to provide this imperative effort to improve the lives of those in desperate need.  Thank you, girls, for sharing with us and best of luck on your trip!
Please take the time to check out their donation pages at the following links.

Also, the club presented a check to the Lt. Daniel Galant of the North Valley Posse for $500.  Rotary supports this volunteer support organization annually as we recognize the spirit of the volunteer in this imperative role.

In addition, we were visited by Jon Binsbacher of the Daisy Mountain Volunteer Firefighters who came to make us aware of the D.M. Firefighter Charities who go beyond their normal support of the community, directing their efforts to children services, illness, surgeries, and those in our community in need.  He shared their upcoming fundraiser, Ignite the Night, at the Carefree Resort and Conference Center on August 26, 2017.  Please take the time to check out their web page and support this great cause.

As if this was not enough, last Saturday our club took part in the St. Mary’s Food Bank’s boxing of foodstuffs to assist families in need.  As usual, we had a stellar turnout of enthusiastic club members.  Special thanks to Claudia Cucitro for organizing the event and giving the club an outlet to do some good!

And finally, our own Frankie Ruiz shared that he is involved in an effort to get water to the homeless.  Between now and September, simply drop off cases of water at Legends Bar and Grill.  Easy as that, so go ahead and do this and add to your count of doing good for the month.
