Shelldale Kids Day at the Sunrise Centre 2019

The Rotary Club of Guelph South is once again partnering with Sunrise Therapeutic Riding & Learning Centre to host children from the Shelldale Family Gateway program.  This is the third annual event and each prior year has been a wonderful success - for the kids, for Sunrise and for club members that participated.

Activities are expected to include swimming (with a Sunrise lifeguard on duty); low ropes course (a Sunrise Camp Coordinator will supervise); a fully accessible playground; informal soccer game; and a BBQ.  Sunrise will have T-shirts to hand out to children and craft material for them to take home.  Our Rotary club is donating funds to cover the costs associated with the bussing of the children and Shelldale Family Gateway staff to and from Shelldale.

We need approximately 12 volunteers to assist with the following duties: poolside, ropes course, soccer game and food setup, BBQ, coffee, cold drinks, sound system setup, etc.  We need 2 or 3 Rotarians to be there between 4:00pm and 5:00pm to help the Sunrise staff with the set-up and 2 or 3 to stay after the children leave to help clean up and get the area ready for the camp the next morning.

Food (for everyone) will include hot dogs, hamburgers, cake and ice cream.
