Our speaker tonight was none other than Rotarian Jim Donaldson who spoke to us about war memorials in general and on this date, the Battle of Vimy Ridge.  By showing photos of a wide variety of war memorials in Europe, Canada and the US, he called to memory the valour and sacrifice of those who served and those who died in the conflicts of World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Viet Nam War and the Holocaust.

Jim's presentation was supported by a large collection of books and photos that he brought.  It is easy to understand why his students loved his History classes!

Thank you, Jim for a well thought out and moving presentation.

In club business, the Directors approved a donation of $350 to the Tillsonburg Horticultural Society for the purchase of a large planter urn with the request that Rotary be given appropriate recognition on the planter and if possible, that it be located at the Rotary Clock Tower.
