President Brian Clark inducted Rick Cox as a new Rotarian. 

 

Speaker:  Bob Marsden introduced Felix Winkel, our ROTEX.

 

Felix spoke to us about his home and family.  Felix comes from Austria and the components of the crest on the national flag are the hammer for industry, the sickle for agriculture and the eagle for sovereignty.  Austria has 8.8 million people, the language is German and the currency is the Euro.

 

Felix enjoys music and plays the trombone in the local marching band.  He also plays piano and guitar.  The traditional costume for men is the Lederhosen and for women, the Dirndl.  Typical Austrian food delicacies are wiener schnitzel, apple strudel, sacher torte, and dumplings.

 

Felix home is the village of Mellau (pop. 1500) in the Bregenzerwald region, known for tourism, carpet manufacturing, cycling and skiing.  Felix enjoys soccer, music and skiing.  His father is a Rotarian and an architect.  His mother is a teacher.  He has two sisters and a grandmother and the family is closely knit.
