Rotary Club of Paramaribo Quota Learning Day

 

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Rotary Club of Paramaribo Quota organized its first Club Learning Day (CLD) of the current Rotary year. This activity is one of two planned CLDs as outlined in the Club Learning Plan 2025 - 2026. The day was led by Club Learning Facilitator (CLF) Maureene.

 

In preparation for the Club Learning Day, members were asked to complete several courses available in the Learning Center. This ensured that the discussions and interactive elements during the sessions were as effective and meaningful as possible.

 

The session began with a welcome and formal announcements by President Cindy Uden. CLF Maureene then provided a brief overview of the program and a reflection on the previous Club Learning Day of the last Rotary year.

 

The morning session started with “I AM A ROTARIAN,” presented by PDG Elwin, which covered the 4-Way Test. This was followed by a presentation from PDG Waddy on the Objects of Rotary, after which an interactive exercise on the Objects of Rotary was conducted.

Following a short coffee break, PDG Waddy delivered the session “Rotary: The Bigger Picture,” which offered insight into the structure of Rotary – from the club level to Rotary International – including its various roles and organizational layers.

The afternoon began with a session on opportunities within Rotary. PDG Elwin gave an overview of structured programs, fellowship groups, and action groups. PDG Waddy then covered the basics of The Rotary Foundation (TRF), including its structure, donations, grant programs, and social impact.

 

The day concluded with a group evaluation and closing remarks. The Club Learning Day provided members with a deeper understanding of Rotary’s core values and organizational structure, as well as inspiration and practical tools for further engagement in Rotary activities at both local and international levels.
