Anna made an excellent presentation of the Food Drive project with images showing were the food went and what it contained. It is nice to see that our money collection (EUR 1900) had been used for food and distributed professionally to 300 people.

Description: Riga Rotary club collected money for the food parcels to be distributed to multi children’s families and families in hard circumstances in different locations around Latvia through Salvation Army contacts. The food was paid for by the Club, delivered to the SA location in Riga, sorted out in Riga and picked up and delivered to 9 locations around Latvia, given out to people. Photos were taken, some photos are ONLY for Rotary members to see the families, some families AGREED for their photos to be put on Facebook/social media.
General information about the families: a single parent raising children, grandparents raising their grandchildren, a parent or parents unemployed/ addicted/handicapped; come kids are handicapped/with special needs.
43 families (Daugavpils, Seda, Saldus, Iecava and Children’s Center in Riga) got a food parcel consisting of the following products: sugar, sunflower oil, rice, buckwheat, pasta, tea (black), tea (caramel), coffee, canned fish, canned meat, canned peas, canned corn, canned sweet milk, margarin, pancake flour, flour, Breakfast cereal, ketchup, mayonnaise, pickles, cheese, spreadable cheese, sausage, Nutella, jam, Sandwich sausage.
Also some of these families got some Rollton products, Noodles, instant soup in December 2021.
26 families (Drusti, Liepa, Liepaja and Bauska) got a food parcel consisting of the following products: sugar, rice, buckwheat, pasta, tea (black), tea (caramel), canned peas, canned corn, canned sweet milk, pancake flour, flour, Breakfast cereal, mayonnaise, sausage, Sandwich sausage.
TOTAL: 71 families from 9 locations benefited from the kind and generous gift of the Club. Everyone was very happy and grateful to get this unexpected gift. Special thank you was said for the fact that the products were not expired.
