Senator Brad Zaun updated the Johnston Rotary Club on this past legislative session and their significant accomplishments.  He also discussed a few legislative initiatives that they were unable to get passed in the 2021 year.  A lively Q&A followed his prepared remarks.
 

Senator Zaun has served in the Iowa Senate since 2005. He is the former mayor of Urbandale, serving from 1998 to 2005 and a former city council member of Urbandale, serving from 1996 to 1998. He is former owner of Zaun's Hardware, currently has a local business and received his Bachelor's degree from Grand View College.

Brad currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate – the Judiciary committee; the Labor and Business Relations committee; the Rules and Administration committee; the Transportation committee; and the Ways and Means committee, where he is the ranking member. He also serves on the Justice Systems Appropriations committee.  Senator Zaun is also the longest serving Republican in the Iowa Senate.
