Johnston Rotary’s own, Laura Kacer, Johnston Superintendent, spoke to us today with a district update. Today, Laura’s presentation touched on the following topics:
- Student growth and activities.
- Employee excellence and challenges in employment.
- Equity at all levels with student, facility, staff, and community members.
- Challenges of being on the School Board and their tough decisions.
- Student input at many levels.
- Fiscal responsibilities and allocating resources.
Laura and the staff work toward an active partnership with parents and families. The Johnston District believes that sincere communication is critical to building a mutual understanding and commitment.
Laura’s presentations are always transparent, non-political, upbeat and from the heart. As always, we appreciated her information and thoughtful remarks.
