Andrea Cook, Program Director, Johnston Partnership was the program today. Andrea gave an overview of many of the Partnership activities. Some points from her presentation were:
- They are really a Human Services organization.
- Their basic coverage is the Johnston School District area, but that they have people from around the State of Iowa that utilize their services.
- Volunteers range from 100 to 150 per month.
- Over 20,000 have been served.
- Food and clothing are popular services available.
- Also work with the Johnston School District on the JUMP program that covers grades 6 through 12.
- There has been a 30% increase in activity during the pandemic.
- They have a student weekend food supply program.
- During the holidays, they have a gift program.
- They are open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Their new location at 5870 Merle Hay Road, Suite C is in the same building next the Johnston Post Office. This location gives them a larger foot print and is much better in servicing the community's needs.
