Ron's life is chronicled in a book titled "Son's of Grace" written by Mark Hughes. In Ron's younger years he was an enforcer for the Son's of Silence outlaw motorcycle gang. He was sentenced to prison after turning himself in for an Iowa cold case murder. While in prison, he started a ministry and was eventually paroled in 2012.
