Club members offer condolences to the family of our former member, Debb Cobb. Debb recently lost her life to pancreatic cancer.
All club members were invited to join at our regular Zoom link at 8 pm Tuesday night to induct new member, Sid Baxter. Sid is the son-in-law of Roger Christian and has been regularly contributing to the RI Foundation for some time. Even though he lives in San Francisco, he expressed interest as joining our club as a member in order to support not only RI Foundation through our club, but also many of the worthy charitable causes that IC AM Rotary supports. Welcome to Sid Baxter!
Those who have not taken the 3-part Rotary Leadership Institute are encouraged to sign up for one or more sessions on May 1-2 in Coralville. RLI is for any member wishing to sharpen their knowledge about all things Rotary.

Kristie Wert has been in Iowa City for the past 3 years. She originally is from Ohio.
The Newman Center is a long-time fixture in downtown Iowa City with its building at the corner of Clinton and Jefferson St. It serves as an anchor for the UI Catholic student community, but is also open to students of all faiths and the community in general. It and similar centers in university communities throughout the country was founded to offer Catholic university students and others an opportunity to lead, to study and practice their faith, and to serve the community through many needed projects. Leadership is organized through a Fellow program where students are selected to lead in one of several capacities: ministry, music, liturgy, communication, marketing and social media, social out-reach, and retreat organization. Young graduates serve on campus as missionaries. They are the boots on the ground for coordinating and helping to carry out all these activities and organizing mission trips to various locations throughout the world.
