Home Hospitality Event

Discussion: The President thanked members who attended the recent home hospitality event hosted by Rotarian Samwiri. Special appreciation was extended to Rotarian Freight, PP Frank, Rotarian Petroit, Rotarian Eva and Rotarian Rona for their participation.
The President also thanked Rotarian Samwiri and his family for hosting and providing food and drinks in a conducive environment, and acknowledged the Family of Rotary led by Rotarian Hafsa Seguya and the Kamocha buddy group for organizing the event.
Decision: The event was recognized as successful, with good engagement, interaction and fun.

Rotary Foundation Giving

Discussion: PP Tom shared why he gives to the Rotary Foundation, emphasizing that pooling resources through Rotary has greater impact than individual giving. He referenced the Jaipu Food Project, the club’s first Rotary-funded project, which helped a double amputee walk again. He noted that he contributes weekly given current cash flow realities.
Rotarian McLean stressed that contributions of any size make a difference and encouraged members to give consistently.
Decision: Members were encouraged to contribute generously and regularly to the Rotary Foundation.

Redistricting of District 9213

Discussion: PDG Bob explained the background to redistricting in the region and the current situation in which District 9213 has about 5,300 Rotarians and 142 clubs, making it too large for one District Governor to manage effectively.
He further noted that the Rotary International Board would be discussing the matter in January and that input from clubs was important in shaping how redistricting is implemented.
Members shared various views: PP Joga supported redistricting as an opportunity to access more global resources; PP Fred questioned the speed of the process; PP Kimuli suggested that three districts might be better than two; and Rotarian Roni asked why clubs needed to vote if Rotary International has the authority to redistrict. PDG Bob clarified that proactive feedback from clubs guides the final approach.
Decision: The club agreed to support the recommendation to redistrict District 9213 into two districts.
