Greetings Rotarians and Friends,

 

It has been quite an eventful week. I will start by sending out my hearty congratulations to you all on the 63^rd Independence celebration for our beloved country Uganda.  As a club, we celebrated Independence day by participating in the RCKN Annual Bonding Walk which took place in Lubowa. I personally participated and enjoyed the fusion of health and fun. We started the morning with a 3 category walk around the Lubowa hills. Some took the 5km walk, others the 7km walk and the strong ones the 11km walk. I took the 7km walk and enjoyed getting to know the area and its breathtaking views especially along the Lake View Crescent road where we were able to see the whole of Lubowa and the beautiful Lake Victoria in the horizon.

Geoffrey Waiswa Sajjabi is currently the Chief Commercial Officer at the National Social Security Fund -Uganda where he is responsible for the Fund’s business growth and retention through improved compliance, member recruitment and contributions collection. Geoffrey is also in charge of the Fund’s operations and oversees customer services, benefits processing as well as branch operations.

 

Geoffrey has overseen over 40% growth in member contributions over the past 5 years from UGX. 840 billion to 2.1 trillion annually while total membership has increased to over 3 million members from 1.5 million. Geoffrey has also executed initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiencies resulting into significant reduction in benefits turnaround time to 4.6 days from over 30 days while customer satisfaction has increased to 88%.
