Greetings Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Friends of Rotary.
The month of May is truly a blessed season. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate and honour the mothers in our lives. As we marked Mother’s Day on 10 May, I extend warm wishes to all our lady Rotarians and mothers in the Rotary family. May love, joy, and grace abound around you always.
At the Rotary Club of Kampala North, we continue to keep our foot firmly on the pedal as we work diligently to conclude the goals we set for this Rotary year while also laying a strong foundation for the incoming leadership team
From Uganda to Nigeria: PDG Robert Waggwa Represents RI President at DISCON 9126
On Friday, 8 May 2026, I had the honour of representing Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo as his Personal Representative at the official opening of the District 9126 Conference (DISCON) in Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria.
The conference, held under the theme “Unite for Good: Collaborating for Impacts,” brought together Rotarians, government leaders, professionals, and community partners for three days of fellowship, dialogue, learning, and celebration.
Every year, the month of May is observed by Rotary International as Youth Service Month. The purpose is to place special emphasis on empowering young people through leadership development, mentorship, education, service, peacebuilding, and professional growth.
The following is an excerpt from a speech delivered by Michael McQueen to incoming Rotary leaders during the International Assembly in Orlando, Florida (12 January). McQueen is a bestselling author and global thought leader whose work has been featured in Forbes, The Guardian, and CNN. His address focused on one of the most critical leadership challenges—resistance to change.
Stay updated with our calendar for the next few months as we celebrate service, leadership, and our collective impact.
