Greetings Rotarians and Friends of Rotary,

A Successful 101st DISCON Celebration

The much-anticipated 101st District Conference (DISCON) finally happened, giving Rotarians across District 9213 a valuable opportunity to celebrate the achievements realized over the past year.

Entebbe was abuzz with energy and the cheer of Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends of Rotary. The DISCON delivered on its promise: timely execution of the programme, more entertainment than speeches, good food, clean facilities, and much more.

As a club, we were able to send 31 delegates to the DISCON. Well done to all who represented the Rotary Club of Kampala North. I trust our delegates enjoyed both the daytime sessions and the evening fellowship.

A Historic District Announcement

As Rotarians, we received important news that Rotary International has approved the redistricting of District 9213 into District 9217 and District 9218.

“Effective 1st July 2027, the Rotary Club of Kampala North will become part of District 9218.”

We congratulate Uganda and the wider Rotary fraternity on this important achievement.

We also celebrate the announcement of DGND MD Jane Kabugo of RC Kampala Sunshine. We congratulate her upon this milestone and wish her every success as the Charter Governor of District 9218.

Recognition in The Rotary Foundation Category

At club level, we were privileged to receive two awards in The Rotary Foundation category. This is a strong reflection of the generosity and commitment of our members.

“As of 18th April 2026, our club has contributed over US$53,000 to The Rotary Foundation.”

I thank you all for your continued generosity toward The Rotary Foundation. Half of that contribution will go to the Annual Fund and return to us as grant funding to support the implementation of our projects.

As a club, let us continue to serve our communities with integrity and in the true spirit of Rotary.

Congratulations to Fellow Clubs

We also congratulate the winners, especially our sister club RC Kampala South and its partner club RC Upper Kololo, for truly being the Governor’s family.

Looking Ahead

Let us remember that the Rotary year has not yet ended. Our next major event is the Installation of PE Olive Lumonya on 25th May 2026.

Let us all fully support this event as we prepare for the next Rotary year.
