District Governor Geoffrey Martin Kitakule has issued an official update to all clubs regarding the District Governor Nominee Designate (DGND) selection process for 2028-2029. Despite ongoing redistricting, key milestones remain in effect to ensure a seamless leadership transition.

Inside this update:

  • DGND Applications: Requirements and the April 3rd deadline.
  • Nominating Committee: Call for 7 club delegates to join the selection board.
  • Delegate Criteria: Detailed qualifications for Past Presidents in good standing.

Clubs are urged to review the eligibility requirements and submit their nominations to the VDES no later than Friday, 5th April 2026.

Dear Stephen Ssendikaddiwa,

Further to my email dated 26th January 2026 regarding the referenced subject above, I would like to share the following critical updates with the entire Rotary fraternity.

1. Redistricting & DGND Applications

The process to redistrict D9213 is ongoing. Until we receive a "No Objection" from Rotary International, the original deadline for submission of DGND applications stands.

Submission Deadline: 3rd April 2026

A complete application must include:

  • Completed Governor-Nominee Designate form
  • Official Club Resolution
  • Candidate's CV

2. Nominating Committee Composition

The DGND selection process is conducted by a Nominating Committee chaired by the District Governor. Based on our current number of clubs, we require 7 additional delegates (1 per 20 clubs) to join the committee.

3. Delegate Qualifications

FinancialsNominee must have paid all RI and District dues
TenureContinuous membership of at least 5 years
AttendanceAttended at least 2 of the last 3 consecutive District Conferences

Clubs are requested to send proposed names for the nominating committee to the Vice District Executive Secretary (VDES) via pdhamuzungu@gmail.com.

Deadline for Nominations: Friday, 5th April 2026 (COB)
