Fundraisers

1986 - On April 3, 1986, our club sponsored the Plummer Family Country Music Show at the Community Center Auditorium for two performances at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. with the proceeds to be donated to Lucas County RSVP.

1990 - Our club started selling basketball raffle tickets in 1990 with $1,000 given annually to Lucas County Health Center Retired Volunteers formerly (RSVP).  The raffle was started by David Laing and he has been the chairman ever since.

1995 - On February 3, 1995, our club sponsored an "all-star" basketball game as a fundraising activity for the Chariton community movie theater.  A chili supper began at 5:30 p.m. with tip off at 7 p.m.  $5,000 was raised for the theater.

2001 - Our club sponsored the Harley Race Wrestling Promotion and raised $2,500.

2002 - Our club sponsored a Sweet Corn Feed at Pin Oak Marsh and raised $790.  We made a donation of $400 to the Pin Oak Marsh.  The sweet corn was raised and donated by Allen Anderson.

2003 - Our club sponsored a Sweet Corn feed on the court house lawn and raised $300. The sweet corn was raised and donated by Rotarian Allen Anderson.

2003 - Our club sponsored a group from Branson called the Duttons who performed in the high school gymnasium.  Over $2,900 was raised for the disc golf project. The Duttons also made a donation of $1,500, through our club, to help eradicate polio.

2004 - Allen Anderson raised and donated sweet corn which we sold during the 4th of July celebration.

2004 - Our club sponsored Donkey Ball which was held in the high school gymnasium. $2,200 was raised for the Girls Softball Complex.

2004-2006 - Rotarians worked the Bingo Tent during the 4th of July celebration on the square. $1500 was raised for the Girls Softball Complex.

2005 - For the second year our club sponsored Donkey Ball in the high school gymnasium.  $1,000 was raised for the Girls Softball Complex.

2006 - Rotarians donated Pie & Ice Cream for a fundraiser during the 4th of July  celebration.  Over $900 was raised for the Girls Softball Complex.

2006 - Our club furnished and served a luncheon in conjunction with the Lucas County Arts Council Arts and Craft Festival.  Rotarians each furnished 2 pies and served barbecued pork & beef sandwiches, baked beans, and coleslaw. $687.00 was raised for the Girls Softball Complex.

2006 - Rotarians furnished soups and salads for a fundraiser held at Carpenter's Hall. $1,300 was raised for a youth center.

2006-2010 Rotarians scanned tickets at all Home Iowa Hawkeye football games. $1,100-$1,400 was raised each year.

2008-2009  Rotarians helped Caters 2U set up and bus tables for a Homecoming Family Buffet held at Carpenter's Hall with the proceeds going to community projects.

Other fundraisers include a Spaghetti Supper & Auction, a raffle in which one of the items was a car, Calendars of Lucas County, Rotarians sold barbecue pork sandwiches at the State Firemen's Convention

2013 - Our first Trivia Night was held on October 19, 2013 at the Freight House with 104 Rotarians and friends.  The profit from the Trivia night and the silent auction was $1,129.23 with the proceeds going to commuity projects.
