Donations
1956 - Our club has sponsored a Lucas County Little League team since 1956.
1988 - Our club furnished T shirts to Chariton Special Olympics participants.
1992 - Since 1992 our club has contributed $250 annually to the Chariton Chamber & Development Corp. for The Ken Crist Rotary Memorial Community Service Scholarship (first recipient $500) After Atha's death it became The Ken & Atha Crist/Rotary Memorial Community Service Scholarship (2 scholarships @ $1,000 each)
1994 - A minimum of $1,000 has been given annually since 1994 to RSVP (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program). Our club has been a sponsor since 1975. Rotary members also serve as volunteers for the program. In 2004 the RSVP name was changed to Lucas County Health Center Volunteer Services.
1996 - On January 11, 1996, The Rotary Club of Chariton awarded the Lucas County Public Health Department a $500 grant for a biojector immunizer.
2006 - Our club pledged $25 per member ($1,300) for the National Special Olympics held in Ames.
2008 - Our club donated $500 to the Parkersburg, Iowa Tornado Relief Fund which was a District 6000 project.
2008 - Dr. Molly James, a Chariton graduate, gave a program to the club on "Medicine for Mali". She was doing a medical mission in Africa. Our club donated $200 for medical supplies.
2009- Our club donated $1,000 for the Tenco van project.
2009 - Our club donated $200 for paint for Make A Difference Week
2013 - Our club gave $100 to the Chariton Chamber Main Street program.
2013 - Our club contributed $300 to the Back to School program.
2014 - Our club gave $350 (Silver Level) to the Chariton Area Chamber/Main Street program.
2014 - Our club gave 50 flash drives for the Back to School Night at a cost of $200.
Our club contributes $255 to FAMSCO (Fire and Medical Supply Company) which is $5 per member & $255 to IOWA M.O.S.T. (Iowa Miles of Smiles Team) each year.
