10/27/25 Meeting Minutes

Brag Bucks:
Bob F. – Rotary Club won at the Grocery Grab this morning with their total being $248.52; closest cart to $250.00 won.
 
Speaker: Norlan, Governor for District 6000
Areas of focus:
  1. Membership – declining across Iowa; extension clubs are growing
  2. Foundation – every Rotarian, every year
    1. Circle the Atlantic for the Flight to End Polio: want to raise $1 million, projected to take 37 days
    2. Flight Around the World to End Polio: raised over $2 million; took 90 days
    3. End Polio Now: challenge to raise $10K across the district
  3. Public image – big push to get Rotary out into the public; work with Heidi Drager on this; wear Rotary attire when out in public; post events on Facebook
  4. Technology: team of 10-15 people to spread the workload; this team will also help with grant applications
Projects to complete this year:
  1. Plant 1 tree in our community
  2. Conduct at least 1 mental wellness program in the community
District Conference: May 1st and 2nd in Coralville
 
Next meeting is Monday, November 3rd at 6PM at the Fire Station for the Firemen Appreciation Dinner. NO NOON MEETING MONDAY.
