Board Meeting June 13, 2018
Present: Bob, John, Chris, Phil, Adam
- Treasurer report: balance in Club account is $26,969.91 and balance in Foundation account is $11,784.2. We have $29.85 on the HyVee card and John has the print from Pheasant’s Forever which we can auction at some event.
- John Schuttinga was approved for membership. John is an Edward Jones rep in town, his contact information will be on the website. He has attended several meetings with Brett.
- New Opportunities has asked for a donation for their school supplies program. Motion by Adam to give $300, 2nd by Bob all vote yes. That is the amount we gave last year.
- Bob brought a request for our Relay for Life team for $100. Motion by Adam 2nd by Bob all approved.
- For the Congregate Meals program we need to pay our Workman’s Comp policy cost is $375. Motion by Adam 2nd by Bob all vote yes.
- The DG requested we pay our Foundation ($1150) and Polio Plus ($100) bill prior to June 22 to meet our goal. John will make the payment.
- Lion’s Club asked us to participate in their Grocery Grab which benefits (someone?). We participated last year our team (Bob, Adam, Phil) overspent by about $100. We need better participants!! The event is Monday July 16 at 8 am at HyVee. Chris will send a reminder. The team (above) agreed to participate again if we can’t find better players.
- Reminder next week is our first meeting on the Vet dinner planning. All Rotarians are welcome to attend. There is no better way to get more out of Rotary than by volunteering and joining in the fun. Adam updated the board on the speaker possibles. We are also looking to hold the event at a business with adequate space.
