Carroll Rotary Meeting Minutes 7/25/22
 
Attendees: Catti, Chris, Bob F., Hubert, Dave, John, Lynn, Trevor, Ann, Ron, Adam
            Special guest: Mike Payson with Prescott Valley, AZ Rotary Club – in town visiting his daughter and son-in-law (Steve Weiderin)
 
Brag Bucks:
Bob F. – This year marked the 55th year for the 16” Sub-state Slow-pitch Tournament (Bob has hit in 50 of those). Bob’s league team, Michael Shoes also won a league trophy.
Adam – traveled the last 18 days: Houston for a week with a youth group and then to Europe with family/friends.
Rich – spent 12 days in Europe
Ron – granddaughter ran 50-mile race 2 weeks ago that was held at Whiterock in Coon Rapids. She finished the race in 9 hours!
 
New Business:
  1. Ditch clean up is going to be 7/27/22 at 5 PM. Meet at the Bomgaars parking lot. Trash bags will be provided. Dress appropriately and bring your own gloves.
    1. This may end up being rescheduled as such short notice to CYP group, not many/any will be able to attend.
    2. Catti and Chris play ball at 6 pm that night so would not be able to help too.
  2. Adam wants to start a new tradition for meetings that requires everyone to talk about something that has happened or is upcoming that they are excited about.
  3. Thank You’s received from scholarship winners and Steve Weineke.
  4. New Opportunities School Drive
    1. Bob F. made motion to donate $300 as we have for many years.

  6. Rose Bowl Parade Float

  7. Hospice Tournament
    1. No tournament this year
    2. Bob has suggested that we donate anyway.
    3. We will talk about this at the next meeting.
  8. Memberships
    1. Need to get more people to our meetings
    2. Think of people to invite to the meetings/social.
    3. Will talk about this more at next meeting as well.
Speaker:
Becky Mahoney with Boy Scouts of America
We are part of the Ohwnasee District.
Carroll is Pack 113 and has 7 cub scouts that range from K-5 grades.
Becky provided a newsletter of recent events and activities. Have had great numbers attend their events/activities.
Fall Jubilee will be taking the place of the Fall Camporee. It will be in Omaha and is a 3-day event.
 1st all girl troop was established in February 2022 and is based out of Harlan. There are currently 8 members.
 
Next meeting is at the new Carroll County Jail on Monday, August 1st at 12PM. We will be providing pizza to eat. Meet in the lobby of the jail.
