Carroll Rotary Club Meeting Minutes 6/6/22
Attendees: Catti, Chris, Phil, Bob F., Hubert, John, Joel, Mike, Ron, Aaron
Guest: Amanda Hazey from Huntsville, AL – was in town visiting her family (Loew’s)
 
Brag Bucks:
  • Chris – 35th birthday on June 9th
  • Amanda – Madison, AL satellite club is submitting to be a charter club and she will be the first President.
Club Account:
  • John provided update on our account and we are in good standing.
  • Here are expenses that still need to come out this year:
    • Scholarships - $4,000
    • St. Anthony’s - $4,000
    • Bike helmets – if we do this – cost unknown at this time; will get update from Adam when he returns as he was looking into this.
New Business:
  1. New Hope requests $2,200 for 1st Aid updates – no motion at this time; will wait for Steve to speak more on this.
  2. Phil wants to do something to develop a program for mothers that are on the fence about abortions.
    1. Phil to research more to see if need in our area
    2. This could be a possible speaker situation for the club.
  3. Coats – do we still have some, when do we want to do the coat drive with New Opportunities?
  4. Ditch Clean Up – join forces with CYP (Carroll Young Professionals)
    1. Need to pick a date
  5. Growing club memberships
    1. What can we do to attract members?
    2. What is it that we are passionate about?
      1. Focus on this to attract members
      2. How do we get younger generations involved/interested?
      3. What are younger generations passionate about?
      4. We could join forces with CYP since they are you and ambitious and do not have a lot of money but have a lot of ideas.
      5. To gather ideas on our passion we can pass paper around and have everyone write down what they are passionate about and then the club chooses one thing to focus on per year.
 
Next meeting is 6/13/22 and our guest speaker is Mary Wittry with Carroll Recycling.
