Carroll Rotary Club Meeting Minutes 6/20/22
Attendees: Catti, Chris, Phil, Bob F., Hubert, John, Ann, Adam, Deb, Dave
 
Brag Bucks:
  • Adam: open house at new apartment building in Jefferson; 5 of 12 units are rented
    • Bought building next to Daily Times Herald and remodeling it into apartment buildings.
New business:
  1. No meeting on Monday, June 27th due to the passing of the gavel meeting that night at 5:30 PM at East Side Shelter House at Swan Lake – bring your friends and/or potential new members; pizza and chicken strips will be provided by Country Stores; BYOB
  2. No meeting on Monday, July 4th due to Independence Day
  3. Social at Carroll Brewery Tuesday, July 5th at 5 PM
  4. Bike helmet update: Adam is working on this; plan is to give out helmets in the fall to local schools.
  5. Literacy program update: Adam has contacted library to see about setting something up in the Fall/Spring – a lot of changes happening at the library right now
  6. RSVP – Golf Outing: we will have a team and we will donate $100 (Adam motioned, Phil second, motion passed); date of tournament is Friday, August 12th.
  7. Catti asked for donation to a Pella team member that recently lost everything that she had in a house fire. Adam motion for $100 BP GC and $100 Visa GC, Phil second, motion passed; Chris will get the BP GC and John will get the $100 Visa GC; GC’s have been received and passed on to the affected team member. THANK YOU!
  8. St. Anthony Hospice Softball Tournament: not sure it is going to be happening this year; Bob will keep us updated; if tournament doesn’t happen, we will do a donation.
  9. Time to start talking about the Rotary Auction…. Date is 10/22/22; need to do a better job of advertising this year; we already have a lot of the documentation done, it just needs updated and sent out; EVERYONE will help this year.
 
Next actual Rotary meeting is Monday, July 11th with the new Rotary District Governor, Steve Weinike as our speaker.
