Carroll Rotary Club Meeting Minutes from 5/23/22
Attendees: Chris, Catti, Phil, Bob F., Hubert, Lynn, John, Steve, Deb, Mike, Ann, Rich, Aaron
Brag Bucks:
- Mike – daughter got 4th place in 3rd grade spelling bee
- Deb – Lynn Curry received an award through University of Iowa
New Business:
- Grocery Grab: Catti, Chris, Phil to participate
- 6/20/22 at 8:30 AM at Hy-Vee
Speaker:
- Joel Lundstrom – DMACC Provost
- Computer science program going well.
- Remodel for Templeton site is underway and going well.
- Struggling to find instructors, have many openings.
- Increase in welding students – 45 last fall and more enrolled for upcoming fall.
- Scholarship:
- Up to us as to how much money we want to spend.
- Award in January for Spring semester.
- DMACC to get us the names of those interested in November/December for selection.
- Catti to get with Joel on details.
- Another idea would be for us to donate gas/food cards to the school to hand out to those students in need.
- This would also provide business to another business in the community.
NO MEETING NEXT MONDAY, MAY 30TH, 2022 – HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!
NEXT MEETING IS MONDAY, JUNE 6TH, 2022 AND WILL BE A BOARD MEETING.
