4/29/24 Rotary Meeting Minutes

Birthdays/Brag Bucks:
  • Doc Martin – Celebrated birthday on 4/28
  • Ron – Granddaughter ran in a 50K in South Korea
Money Requests:
  1. Bandshell
  2. Merchant’s Park
** We are going to set up programs for each of these requests before we determine how much money to donate to each cause
 
Speakers: Allen Anderson (President and CEO) and Eric Salmonson (Vice President and CFO), St. Anthony Regional Hospital
  1. Critical access – approval has been granted by the board; this will help with more reimbursement from Federal on services.
  2. Currently operating as a 25-bed hospital.
  3. Medical costs continue to rise.
  4. Medicaid directed payments – hasn’t increased payment reimbursement in decades.
    1. Federal government is matching funds that hospitals are paying, and state isn’t matching.
  5. Physician recruitment:
    1. Dr. Dirkx – ortho (supplementing Dr. Goding)
    2. Dr. Johnson (OBGYN)
    3. Hiring another OBGYN to replace Dr. Svensson (retiring)
    4. Internal medicine doctor – starting in 2025
    5. Psych doctors – contracts
    6. Family practice
  6. Same day appointments available at the “walk-in” clinic to be seen by the APRN.
  7. New CT machine is up and running as of 4/29/24.
    1. Old machine had 1.4 million scans completed on it.
  8. AHS building (St. Anthony Office Building): will house 60-70 employees once all have been moved; home health, hospice, prior authorization department, IT and IT analysts and the business, accounting, and health information offices will all move eventually which will open a lot of real estate on the 1st floor of the hospital allowing for some renovations to the ER that are much needed.
