1. Scholarship applicants to be sent out to email – please review and come to next meeting with your nominations.
2. Speaker next week: ISU Feed Grain project on 4/28; 5/5 social potential; 5/12 KHS top 10; 5/19 CHS top 10
3. New Hope Donation: Smart Home - $4K – Bob F. motion, Ann 2nd; pass

• Adventures in Arctic Conferencing
• Challenges in the arctic: a lot of spying between countries, weather is cold, dark half of the year, minerals are hard to get too
• April 2023 – Master’s degree in Rome; traveled to Bodo, Norway (above Artic Circle); very clean; very nice people; no crime; decided to pursue a diploma in arctic studies; met a lot of international people
• Arctic Circle Assembly – attended; US Senators attend; open to the public
• Iceland Noir – literary festival; sold out but got to attend as a volunteer; helped plan the Iowa version of this event
• Artic Frontiers: Tromso, Norway – science and military conference
• Toronto, Canada: Arctic 360 Conference – climate change, mining and critical minerals, icebreakers, shipping, security
• Arctic Circle Forum: Berlin, Germany – get a diverse group together
• 1ST Annual polar dialogue – October 2024; was invited personally to this conference to speak; one of 250 people
• Easton Collaborative Research Award from the University of Iowa of Journalism and Mass Communication School; Student Impact Grant and Presidents Award
• Teaching adjunct at DMACC on country of Norway and international politics well
• In May going to be traveling to Finland for Arctic Spirit Conference on Arctic Security
