Rotary Leadership Institute – April 4th, 5th, 6th – email sent to all our institutes
Scholarships and RYLA being promoted in the schools currently. 
SuperDraft Softball Tournament: 
    1.    Motion to donate $500 – Aaron K.

Speaker: Aaron Kooiker and LaVerne Dirkx with the City of Carroll
     -    City budget discussed  
           o    Buying new water tanker truck for fire department
           o    12th street reconstruction happening from Grant Road to West St. 
           o    NW pressure zone being worked on; new pump station and a water tower being constructed north of Windstar (area 100% confirmed yet)
           o    Work and sewer extensions for Ziegler construction project
           o    Increasing SRO (School Resource Officer) position for Carroll School District – split with city and school; request from the school system; works for school during school year (9 months paid by school) and patrols city during summer
           o    Adding command vehicle for fire chief 
           o    1 open position with the city right now – part time
           o    1 police officer position open 
 
-    LaVerne: road with PD to see how the new windshield cameras work; reads every license plate it encounters at 7 mph and sends it to DSM and back to flag the car if needed
           o    PD computers can look up where county sheriff and state patrol are in vicinity to share all the information with as well 
           o    in the month of January cameras read 29K license plates
-    NW Park shelter house burned down and is fenced off; waiting for insurance company to finalize reports and payment to determine next steps; looking at a better shelter house to take its place  
-    Stoplights at Adams and Court Streets will come down in fiscal year 2026; LaVerne personally spent 10 hours studying the traffic traveling through and parking around those intersections; 1 car spent more than 1 hour parked 
-    Dip in crosswalks where there are bricks are going to need some attention soon
-    HWY 71 from Carroll to Auburn will be redone in the next 5 years
-    Merchants Park – renovation pretty much complete
-    Rec Center – renovation pretty much complete, some HVAC work taking place; memberships have gone up
-    Band Shell – money is there and waiting for bids to come back 
 
Next meeting is on Monday, March 10th with Carroll County Supervisors as our speakers.
