3/25/24 Meeting Minutes

Bob F. – IA State Men making Sweet 16; women put up a heck of a fight against Stanford last night but lost in OT.

Ron – Creighton men in Sweet 16

Adam – IA women advanced on to second round and play Virginia tonight.

Thoughts and prayers are with Dennis Molitor’s family at their time of mourning with the passing of Dennis. Dennis was a past Rotary President for Carroll.

 

Clay Hayley – Sapphire – achieved by donating $1K on top of the initial $1K Paul Harris contribution.

Thankful for the rain!

Courthouse update: main level moved back up on Friday so can now enter through the main entrances; restrooms are now ADA compliant; lower-level renovations will start now; there were no surprises with construction, which is lucky for how old the building is.

Updates: 3 open positions right now; health insurance hasn’t increased in 3 years; levy taxes have decreased; 2 grants received and funds are being moved to a CD to generate more funds until it is decided what the grants should be spent on; getting expensive to maintain road equipment; upcoming projects in the next few years: secondary roads (airport road S of Manning, 71 to Lidderdale resurfacing, 71 to Mt. Carmel resurfacing, Arcadia to Sac County line resurfacing)

5-year plan: increase on cost of equipment (ambulance and secondary road equipment) is tricky and is increasing; secondary roads (need to find more ways to allocate funds towards this).
