Brag Bucks:
  1. Deb – just returned from 7 weeks in Florida; they enjoyed their time away.
Speaker:
Chad Tiemeyer with Parks and Rec
  1. Rec Center is 99% done with all the upgrades (walking track, locker rooms, HVAC)
    1. Stop in and see it.
    2. Chad said we can line up a tour for Rotary to see the updates.
    3. They have had an increase in memberships.
  2. Merchant’s Park Renovations
    1. Seating
    2. Press box
    3. Potential for an Iowa Community College Tournament coming to Carroll in May of 2025 that would bring 6 teams to town for a minimum of 2 nights for each team.
      1. 1 year right now for possible 3 years if goes well.
  3. Golf Course
    1. Another week before will be open.
    2. New software update to be installed.
    3. Brenda just got back from vacation.
  4. Pool
    1. Carroll County Aquatic Reciprocal Card is going to be new this year so that if you buy a membership to the pool you will get to travel to any participating reciprocal pool (Glidden, Coon Rapids, etc.).
  5. Softball Fields
    1. A couple of projects are in the works with the softball association.
    2. All the trees that were taken down last year were Ash.
    3. Possible gazebo area being added to the East of the concession stands.
  6. Pickleball Parking Lot
    1. Working on getting barriers to keep people off of the grass.
    2. Will not remain grass, will be paved at some point.
    3. Working on getting the fence updated as well to get more access points.
  7. Bandshell
    1. Construction crews are looking at bandshell and providing estimates on cost to renovate.
    2. Fundraising and grants will pay for the renovations so that taxpayers aren’t faced with the cost of it.
    3. Historical society is involved.
  8. Tree planting
    1. Removed 500 Ash trees last year.
    2. Planted 95 new trees last year in the fall.
Chad is going to reach out to our group with any projects that he can think of that we can contribute and put our name on.
 
Next meeting is Monday, March 18th from 12-1 PM at The Hub with Aaron Kooiker, Manager of the City of Carroll as our guest speaker.
